DualCam is The Next Major Social Media Trend

People taking pictures and videos sybolizing the next major social media trend.

Okay, DualCam does not exist outside of my mind, but the idea is fun and has the opportunity to become the next social media trend. These things seem to come in waves. A sound bite, a clip, a concept will take off and be ‘the thing’ for a couple months. In those few months, the creator of the base gathers incredible viewership. I have a simple concept that can become the next social media trend.

DualCam

Take a phone’s front camera, take a phone’s back camera, turn them on at the same time. Boom, that’s it. By enabling both cameras, the dynamic of ‘react’ videos is modified and revitalized. This subset of content has been documented thoroughly due to the effectiveness of the content. With a stream of the recorder’s face overlaid with what they are seeing opens up the opportunity for an evolution of react videos. Despite the apparent technical ease in development, I haven’t come across an application in my 5 minutes of research that functions as needed.

I’m not entirely sure what the best form is for this idea. Whether it be a disparate app, in-built social media functionality, or a filter, I can see potential disruption with this idea. With the right marketing, this FaceTime-esque recording could become the next major social media trend. I know little about social media, and even less about what is trendy, but this seems like a gimme.

This was a short concept, but if you’d like to explore more, check out this page!
